Strategic and tactical command

Training spans Strategic (Gold) and Tactical (Silver) command in both firearms and non-firearms contexts, alongside the post-incident procedures that follow. Every programme is shaped around local needs, the operating environment of the agencies attending, and the threats and policing objectives they face.

Grounded in established practice, delivered for local realities

All of our command training is built on the well-established, tested and regulated UK Authorised Professional Practice. Rather than transplanting that framework wholesale, we contextualise it for each territory - reflecting local threat assessments, operating conditions and policing priorities so that what is taught can be applied directly in the field.

Salterton's specialists bring extensive international operational and training experience to this work, ensuring the delivery is regionally relevant as well as professionally rigorous.

Building local resilience

Effective command capability should not depend on visiting teams. Wherever possible, we recommend that a local trainer works alongside the Salterton team throughout delivery - supporting the programme, participating in it, and developing the capability to lead future training from within the agency's own ranks. The goal is lasting, self-sustaining command capacity, not a one-off course.
