Experience:
Over 30 years operating in and leading high-performance teams in the public sector, 18 of them as a Detective and Senior Investigating Officer leading counter-terrorism and serious and organised crime investigations that required national and international co-operation. As a senior consultant and subject matter expert, Mark has designed and delivered leadership, management and investigative programmes to clients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, on behalf of organisations including the UK FCDO, the National Crime Agency, Ulster University and the University of West London. Holding an MSc in Executive Leadership (Distinction), he is a CMI Level 5 accredited coach and mentor, an ILM Accredited Tutor and Assessor, and an accredited PIP Level 3 Senior Investigating Officer and Serious Crime Review Officer.

Mark is a former Senior Investigating Officer in the Police Service of Northern Ireland. Drawing on a 30-year policing career - 18 years as a Detective in CID and five as a Senior Investigating Officer in Crime Operations Branch - Mark has led teams on counter-terrorism and serious and organised crime investigations that often required international co-operation. He brings this operational perspective to both public and private sector clients, helping individuals and teams to achieve their goals and objectives.
His expertise spans leadership and management, coaching and mentoring, strategy, leading change and innovation, decision making and serious crime investigation. With over 15 years' experience as a consultant and facilitator, he has designed and managed a wide variety of leadership, management and investigative programmes and delivers highly interactive, adaptive workshops. As a Recognised University Trainer he has designed and taught on MSc and BSc leadership and management programmes at Ulster University and the University of West London, and he delivers ILM Level 5 Leadership training on 'How to Become an Effective Leader' and 'Innovation and Managing Change'.
On behalf of the UK FCDO he has developed and delivered senior and junior leadership courses to participants from Ministries of Interior, law enforcement, health, education and tourism across Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, South Africa and the UAE, and he has delivered leadership programmes for the National Crime Agency in Kurdistan and for the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia as part of its 2030 Vision.
Holding an MSc in Executive Leadership (Distinction) from Ulster University, Mark coaches and mentors senior leaders around the world, supporting them to recognise the areas they need to develop and to grow. Whether working one-to-one or with a full class, he takes great care to ensure participants enjoy the experience, take the opportunity to learn, and can relate the training to their own experiences - building the skills and competencies required to become an effective leader and to lead change and innovation in a VUCA world.
