Sarah Pengelly is a dynamic and solutions-focused Project Manager with years of experience of setting up services such as outreach services, a homeless hostel, a community centre, mental health crisis centres, and a refugee resettlement service.
Core Competencies include manging and coordinating complex and multi-agency projects, strategic planning and action plan delivery, performance monitoring and reporting, stakeholder engagement and relationship management, risk assessment and mitigation, policy and procedure development, crisis response and incident coordination, training, facilitation and workforce development, service design and implementation, and leadership, coaching and team development.
Sarah is also a successful bid writer having sourced grant funding for offender training and employment provision, homeless services, support for blind and visually impaired people, for community heritage projects and an adult reading charity. She has also been in commissioning and contract management roles and funded services for several community initiatives, safe spaces for children and young people, women’s services and many more.
Sarah is currently on deployment working to support the Commissioner of Police in Montserrat with the planning, delivery and the embedding of multiple projects. These include the development of processes to analyse, mitigate and record risk, communications and community engagement, prioritising cost effectiveness, capturing added value and the successful implementation of the improved resources and operational systems.
Sarah is motivated by injustice and problem solving, she loves to learn and fully understand why problems exist and then working with those with lived experience and in service delivery to find solutions and improve the situation for all stakeholders, and ultimately improving the outcomes and developing the trust and confidence of community, funders and service users.
