Davina is a ‘pracademic’; an experienced executive leader whose work utilises advanced academic skills and qualifications to implement best practice in the field. A thought leader, social justice activist and system change champion - Davina is the kind of experienced leader who excels during consultancy opportunities where change is required, innovation and creativity are needed and when improvement for those who use CJ services is necessary.
As a restorative leader, Davina works with communities and those who use services to co-design and co-create new and improved support offers that better respond to their needs. As a result, Davina has delivered award winning services and been recognised for national best practice. With commissioning management experience, Davina has commissioned multi-million-pound victim, offender and community safety services – achieving efficiency savings, improved justice and greater impact.
Davina works as the Chief Executive for a Rape Crisis Centre and is currently working to diversify the work of this charity to become a women’s centre. Currently studying for a master’s in business administration at the University of Exeter, Davina still has energy for sport, family and travel (all of which are exceptionally important to her). Having extensively travelled and worked with many diverse communities, Davina is especially proud of her approach to equity, inclusion, authenticity and trust building. Davina is driven by the values of bravery, integrity and creativity – which guide Davina to do the right thing, act with integrity - even when it is hard, promote fairness and create changes which enable people to be safe, supported and thriving.
Davina’s approach to leadership is enabling, collaborative and joyful. Davina recognises that working in the community safety and social justice field is incredibly tough, but so important and necessary. With this understanding, Davina encourages compassion, leadership growth and kindness. When we are at our best, we lead this work with our heart as well as our head, which creates safer and more human responses that prevent and repair harm.
